

Susan Victoria Duchateau, age 76, of Copperas Cove, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2023. Victoria was born in Los Angeles, California, to Victor Torres and Susan Noriega. She had a half-sister, Dagmar Torres, and two half-brothers - Edward Torres (deceased) and Lawerence Keel (deceased).
Victoria is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Tom Duchateau; her five children, Gerald Ward and his wife, Alexis Ward; Rebecca Lambert and her husband, James Lambert; Christina Bache and her partner Frank van den Brink; Christopher Duchateau and his partner, Nicole Dela Pena; and Danielle Duchateau, her eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Victoria’s contributions to her community were vast. For more than ten years, she was an educator in the Copperas Cove Independent School District and a coordinator for the VFW Voice of Democracy program and the Patriotic Art program, facilitating deeper civic engagement for junior high and high school students.
Victoria was the life of the party; she loved to dance and was a friend to many, including her former spouse, Bill Bache, and her children’s spouses' and partners’ parents.

A Visitation for Susan will be held Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Crawford-Bowers, 211 W Ave B, Copperas Cove, Texas 76522. A Graveside Service will occur Friday, May 12, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 11463 State Highway 195, Killeen, Texas 76542.
