Alfern Hunt

A Celebration of Life Service for Alfern Hatchel Hunt is set for 2:00pm Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Warren Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley of the Dogwood Cemetery.

A Family and Friends Gathering will be Saturday from 12:00 to service time.

Alfern died March 2, 2026 at Tishomingo Manor. She was born on April 24, 1939 in Point Pleasant, MO. She retired from Heico Mfg. Co. in Mendota, Il. Alfern loved to sing gospel music, loved the Lord, and hopes to be remembered as a Christian Woman. She was an avid doll collector.

She was preceded in death by her husband and father of her children, L.D. Workman; parents, Lee and Myrtle Hatchel; a grandson, Gabriel Quiles; and sister, Frances Guin.

She is survived by her son, Michael Workman; daughters, Wanda Quiles (Mike) and Debora Kerchner (Douglas); grandchildren, Julina, Michael, Ryan, Dustin, and Courtney; and great grandchildren, Marissa, Kara, Abram, Cody.
