

Benny was a native of Prentiss County, MS, a 1964 graduate of Booneville High School and a 1971 graduate of Mississippi State University. He was a Vietnam Veteran and served in the United States Navy from 1965 until l968. Following his return home he was employed at the Wurlitzer Company for six years. Benny established Fulghum Construction Company in 1977 and later opened Alcorn Builders Supply Company where he was presently involved as co-owner.
He previously served on the City Planning Commission and was a member of the Home Builder's Association. He was actively involved with the North Mississippi Children's Emergency Shelter as children were dear to his heart. He was known for his outgoing personality, generosity and will be missed by many. Known as "Pops", Benny loved spending time with his grandaughters. He enjoyed early morning coffee with the guys and riding dirtbikes .
He is preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Ara Fulghum; a half sister Lynne Wetmore, his father-in-law John Jordan.
Survivors include his wife of forty-eight years Sandra Jordan Fulghum; a son Thad Fulghum and wife Jennifer and his granddaughters, Kelsey and Katie Beth Fulghum all of Corinth. His Mother-in-law Clara Jordan of Corinth; sister-in-law Vicki Bowen and husband Richard of Iuka, MS
Pallbearers will be; Bill Plaxico, William Butler, Ronald Lilly, Mike Byrnes, Roger Coln, Billy Gray, Terry Cartwright, Billy Webb and Keith Nichols.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Employees of Alcorn Builders Supply.
