Betty Jean Morgan Geer (October 7th, 1948 - November 7th, 2025) was born in McNairy County, TN on October 7th, 1948 to John R. Morgan and Georgia (Childers) Morgan. She grew up on a farm where she picked cotton, took care of her siblings, and was an avid reader. She graduated from Michie High School (Class of '66). She was the proud owner of the first Camaro in town. She was a supervisor at the telephone company.
Taking advice from an older friend, Betty left Corinth and moved to Illinois, near Chicago where a blind date changed her life. Betty married Bill Geer on June 5th, 1971. Their love was exemplified by each passing year together. They celebrated 50 years before he passed. They had two children, Anthony Stephen (April) and Angela Denise (Larry). They had seven grandchildren, Brandon Gann (Danika), Blaine Geer (Rachel), Jonathan Gann, Blake Geer, Lucy Geer, Lacy Geer, and Christian Gann. She also has three step-great grands, Brison, Kenley and Caden.
Betty talked Bill into coming home and they happily lived in Corinth since 1985. She was a serious businesswoman, managing offices such as Benchcraft/BMT, and she was the Comptroller of the Co-Op, until finally opening PSA, LLC, where she did payroll and accounting for many other small businesses. She partnered with Greg Cooley and Stuart Green, only to become the sole owner and operator. After "Retiring", she dedicated her life to Maxie Gordon and Associates where she was his business manager.
She loved the people in her life; spoiling "Her Boys" and all her children and grandchildren. There were brownies and no-bake cookies often being made with each of them. She rode in a red convertible and was always up for an adventure.
Betty was an active member of St. James Catholic Church and of the K of C Ladies Auxiliary; every year nothing brought her more joy than helping give Christmas to needy children.
In Her final chapter, she spent as a Red Hat Lady and a member of the unofficial St. James Bunco Group. She fought bravely with the West Cancer Center of Corinth. Her friend, Reeda Gray was always at her side, as well as Margot Orman and Tommy Thompson. She had such a host of friends and family that will miss her greatly. A special "Thank You" to Fr. Mario and Fr. Joseph from bringing her comfort in her siritial needs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, JR Morgan; sisters, Barbara Morgan Pace and Brenda Morgan-Bowen.
