

Celebration of Life Service for Dora Jane Dilworth, 89, will be at 11am on May 30,2026 at Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow at Hinkle Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10am until service time at the funeral home.
Dora Jane Dilworth, 89, passed away on May 10, 2026. Born on March 6, 1937, in Benton, Tennessee, Dora Jane graduated from Biggersville High School in 1955. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Science and English from Blue Mountain College in 1960. From 1966 to 1969, she proudly served in the United States Marine Corps as a First Lieutenant, earning an honorable discharge for her dedicated service. Pursuing her passion for education, she attained her Master of Education degree from Memphis State University in 1973.
Dora Jane devoted her career to teaching, with a focus on special education in Ashland City, Tennessee. Her deep love of history inspired her active participation in various historical organizations, reflecting her lifelong enthusiasm for preserving and exploring the past.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry and Arva Bolt Dilworth; her brother, Hensley McFadden Dilworth; and her sisters, Margaret Stout, Frances Freeman, and Elizabeth Costley.
She is survived by her sister, Sarah Trelawney, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
