Ms. Johnston died on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at her residence. She was born on Saturday, February 1, 1936 to the late Art and Vance Smith Murphy. According to her family, she was a lady that you couldn't slow down. She worked in the assembly department in a factory, owned and managed Ann's Dinner, loved going to the Bishop Center, worked in her garden, attending church at Foote Street Church of Christ, taking care of her two dogs, Pee Wee and Peaches, and was even an author, writing and publishing a book "Peaches, The Star of This Show and More".
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her son, Mike Johnston and his wife Bobbie; five grandchildren Paula Johnston and her friend Nerissa Baccus, Michael Johnston, Matthew Johnston and his wife Shellie, Joseph Crawford and Kenneth Crawford.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 from 5:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. and from 12:00 noon till service time on Thursday.
