

Erskine Williams Jr. went to be with his Lord & Savior on February 3rd, 2013 at the age of 84. He was born on October 14, 1928 in Memphis, TN the second child of Erskine Williams Sr. and Gladys Crawley Williams. Raised in Memphis, TN he learned the values of hard-work and entrepreneurship from his father and grandfather guiding him to earn his Eagle Scout. He was an outstanding athlete and went onto becoming a 3-sport letterman (wrestling, tennis, and track) at VMI in Lexington, VA where he was also a member of Kappa Alpha Order fraternity. Before returning to Memphis, he ventured to Boston in order to complete his MBA studies at Harvard School of Business. He married Mary Warriner Williams on October 4th, 1958 at Grams 'Oak Home' in Corinth, MS. They moved to Dallas in 1960 where he started his own foam-plastics business Williams Products. He loved his family and loved to show them the newest technical gadgets that he purchased such as the TRS-80 computer in the 70's, the Apple IIc in the 80's, and one of the first digital cameras in the 90's. He liked to document his family, travel, and life experiences with his photography. He may not have been the best at remembering names, but he always made you feel as if you were the most important person at that moment with his strong sense of friendship, southern charm, and warm sense of humor. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Jane Droke, and loving and faithful wife of 35 years Mary Warriner Williams Williams. He is survived by his loving family including his daughters Marnie Williams, Cayce Kemp, son-in-law Greg Kemp, four grandchildren Margaret Kemp, Mary Warriner Kemp, Erskine (Mac) Kemp, and Martin Kemp. A graveside service will be held at Henry Cemetery in Corinth, MS on Thursday February 7th, 2013 at 3pm.
