Floyd Newton

Services for Floyd Newton, 93, are set for 3 pm Thursday at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm at McPeters Funeral Home. Brad Dillingham will officiate the graveside service.

Mr. Newton died Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at his residence. He was born April 3,1929 to the late Allen and Bulah Newton. He was a lifelong member of Strickland Church of Christ where he served as an elder. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Floyd was an avid hunter and fisherman, when he wasn't spending numerous hours working as a carpenter.

Survivors are his son, Stacy Newton (Lesa); his daughter, Candace Malone (Steve); his brothers, Johnny Newton (Diane) and Danny Newton (Janice); his sister, Juanita Crum; his grandchildren; his great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Mr. Newton was met in Heaven by his wife Joan "Stevens" Newton. He was also preceded in death by his parents; his sons, Kenneth Newton and Charles "Richie" Newton; his daughter, Nola "Wendy" Lancaster; and his brothers, Grady Newton, Hermon Newton, James Newton, and Norman Newton.
