Celebration of Life Services with Military Honors for Larry Clinton Barr are set for 2:00 p.m. Thursday June 28th, 2018 at McPeters Inc. Funeral Directors Chapel, with Bro. Jarrod Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Farmington Baptist Church Cemetery.
Larry passed peacefully at his residence June 24, 2018. He was born September 13, 1939 in Corinth, MS. to the late John Cleo and Ella Mae Swain Barr. He was a lifelong Corinthian and a member of Farmington Baptist Church. He served in the US Marine Corps and was a Vietnam Veteran. He retired from Intex Plastics after 28 years and enjoyed 25 years of retirement. In Larry’s personal time, he enjoyed collecting guns, hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities. His favorite activity was spending time with his family as well as his four-legged companions over the recent years, including horses and multiple canine friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Maxine McVay and niece Cathy Jacobsen.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ginger Taylor Barr, son Sean Barr and wife Megen, daughter Michelle Nixon, daughter Shana Harvell and husband Jimmy, grandchildren; Russell Chaney, Alicia Chaney, Taylor Zachary Barr, Mychaela Nixon, Kade Nixon, Kyler Rickman, Will Harvell and Jake Harvell; sisters-in-law Gale Taylor and Donnie Croat and husband Peter; nephews David Taylor and Phil Lassiter; and niece Vicki Schwab.
Pallbearers will be Taylor Barr, Kyler Rickman, Kade Nixon, Will Harvell, Jake Harvell, Jimmy Harvell and David Taylor.
Family will receive friends Wednesday June 27th, 2018 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and Thursday June 28th, 2018 from 1:00pm until the service time.
