Funeral Services Celebrating the life of Lloyd Gann, III will be 1pm on Monday, July 14, 2025 at McPeters Funeral Home with Jon Paul Gulledge and Johnson Ramsey officiating. The family will receive friends from 11am until service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Henry Cemetery.
Lloyd passed away on July 8, 2025 at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. He was born in Corinth to the late Lloyd Gann, Jr. and Helen Sanders Gann. He attended Corinth High School and then earned a degree in auto mechanics from Northeast Mississippi Community College. While his degree laid the groundwork for his career, his love for auto painting was his true passion. Lloyd found immense joy in restoring older vehicles, transforming them into beautiful works of art that reflected his skill and creativity. His journey through life was marked by his dedication to his craft.
Lloyd was a member of the Magnolia Car Club and a former member of several Antique Car Clubs and Street Rod Car Clubs. He purchased his first antique car at 14 years old and his love of cars continued throughout his life. He was also a former member of the SASS (Single Action Shooting Society) where he spent many Saturdays in western shooting competitions.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Lloyd was a man of many interests. He took great pleasure in working in his shop and spending time outdoors working in the yard. A collector at heart, Lloyd enjoyed shopping for gifts for his wife, daughter, and grandchildren. In the later years, he could not be kept away from bargain hunting for a treasure. However most importantly, it was the time spent with his loved ones that brought him the greatest joy, making sure that they had anything the wanted.
Lloyd and his wife, Margaret were former members of South Huntington Street Church of Christ in Kosciusko, MS and Olive Branch Church of Christ in Olive Branch. More recently, he was a member of Acton Church of Christ in Michie, TN.
Lloyd is survived by his wife of 57 years, Margaret Gann; daughter, Julie Hunter (Stephen); grandson, Cameron White (Skylar Eaves); granddaughter, Caydie White; bonus daughter, Traci Nichols; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express a deep and sincere thanks to Lloyd's nurses, Nicole, Katrina and the entire staff of Sanctuary Hospice House who provided care and comfort with such love and compassion. Also the family would like to make mention of a special niece, Charity Youngblood for her wonderful care of Lloyd and his family.
Pallbearers include Cameron White, Bradley White, Jordan Nixon, Ray Keeling, Colt Hamilton, and Greg Kuntz. Honorary Pallbearers include Stephen Hunter, Raymond Montgomery, Lester Foreman, and Tommy Melvin.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Sanctuary Hospice House (5159 W. Main St., Tupelo, MS 38801).
