Madinna passed away on February 2, 2026 at her residence. She was born in Chicago, IL to Franklin D. and Carol Huffman Frye. She moved to Corinth when she was 15 years old. She graduated in 1979 from Grace Bible Baptist School and not only was she the single graduate that year but she was also the first student to graduate from Grace Bible. She was employed at Long John's Silver for 25 years where a majority of that time she spent as restaurant manager. She is a member of Oakland Baptist Church. She loved being with her family and especially her grandchildren. Madinna was radically empathetic, always loving and kind. She was the best mother. She viewed life as a treat to always be enjoyed to its fullest. She had a brilliant mind and she was a steady anchor for everyone close to her. She possessed a rare, incisive wisdom that could untangle any crisis in an instant. She offered profound counsel that felt both effortless and perfectly timed. Whether facing a minor hurdle or a life-altering crossroads, she had the uncanny ability to distill complexity into clarity. Her intellect was matched only by her love of life and generosity, ensuring that no one ever walked away without a clearer path forward. Madinna encouraged others "don't just reach for the stars, but grab a little beyond them".
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Kenneth Melvin; daughter, Cristina Wiginton; step-daughters, Sarah Melvin Lanier (Jason), Katie Melvin and Misty Melvin; grandchildren, Noah Wiginton, Charlie Wiginton, Cole Lanier, Gavin Lanier, Jackson Mills and Alaina Gass; parents, Franklin and Carol Frye; sisters, Kathy Whitaker (Gene), Christie Frye (Timothy) and Marsha Mitchell (Kevin); aunt, Geraldine Maynard, nieces and nephews, Matthew Horner, Johnathan Horner, Alisha Crews, Taylor Potts, Nicholas Frye, Jimi Mauney, Lizzie Mauney, Aaron Mauney, Natalie Mauney and a host of cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Kenneth and Iva Mae Fox and brother, Timothy Frye.
Bro. Randy Bostick will officiate the service.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Mauney, Noah Wiginton, Kevin Mitchell, Blake Carruth, Nicholas Frye, Justin Rickett and Gene Whitaker . Honorary pallbearers will be Jimi Mauney, Matthew Horner, Johnathan Horner, Eli Horner, Mick Frye and Zak Roach.
