Mary Lena Mitchell Perry

Mary Lena Perry, 94, died Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. Ms. Perry was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church of Corinth. She was also a member of UDC, a past member and Regent of DAR, a charter member of Junior Auxiliary, and a former Chairman of the Corinth City School Board. She was an avid Bridge player, a well known local artist, and was very active in her community.

Funeral services will Sunday, November 21, 2010 at 3:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Don Elliott officiating. Burial will follow in City Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, November 21, 2010, from 1:00 pm until 2:45 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall.

Survivors include one son, Dr. Robert H. (Bo) Perry (Louise H.) of Corinth; one daughter, Dianne Anderson (Gary) of Flora, Ms.; four grandchildren, Maryann Elizabeth Upchurch (Jeff), Emily Louise Coursey (Chad), Robert Houston Perry, Jr., and Christian Heidelberg Ford (Angela); and three great grandchildren, Clayton Ellis Upchurch, Charlotte Louise Upchurch, and Meredith Katherine Ford.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Houston and Sammie Farmer Mitchell; her spouse, Dr. Ellis R. Perry; and three brothers, Bingham Mitchell, Beecher Mitchell, and Joe Burge Mitchell.

Pallbearers will be Christian Heidelberg Ford, Houston Perry, John Mitchell, Jay Mitchell, Jerry Mitchell, and Chad Coursey.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Richard Hendrick and Russell Hendick.
