

A Celebration of Life Service for Melba Hendrix Rhodes, 85, is set for 3:00 pm Friday at First Baptist Church with Rev. Nathan VanHorn officiating. Burial will follow in the Henry Cemetery. A Family and Friends Gathering will be Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and Friday from 2:00 pm to service time, all at First Baptist Church.
Melba died February 9, 2025 at Dogwood Plantation. She was born on May 10, 1939 in McNairy Co. TN to the late Morphis and Elizabeth Hendrix. She was a graduate of Ramer High School and a member of First Baptist Church. She worked in retail most of her life at Preston Stafford, Southern Homes, and Gingers where she wrapped many gifts and made many bows. She never met a stranger and was always the first to strike up a conversation.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty plus years, Ronnie Rhodes and her parents.
She is survived by her sons, Todd Rhodes (Rhonda) and Trent Rhodes (fiancé Christy); grandchildren, Alex Rhodes (Mycaela), Allie Evans (Noah), Lauren Rhodes and Case Rhodes; great-grandchildren, Beckett Evans, Griffin Rhodes and Bayliss Evans; brother, Rodney Hendrix; and sister, Lynn Stockton.
