

Funeral service for Osborne “Jack” Hunt Nutter 84 are set for 3:00 P.M. Wednesday at McPeters Inc. Funeral Directors with Bro. Danny Rowland and Bro. Merl Dixon officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery.
Jack died January 11, 2015 at his home with his family. He was born August 20, 1930 in Quinwood, West Virginia to the late Okey Hanna and Lula Mae Nutter.
He attended Marshall Univ. and completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry at West Virginia Univ. in 1953. Following graduation he accepted a position at International Paper Co. in the Delta Woodlands Division in Mississippi. He was promoted and transferred to several cities throughout the state. He retired after 32 years of service as supervisor of Woodlands Division in North Mississippi.
On June 18, 1960 he married Julia Gunnell Hemphill. He had many hobbies and interests, he enjoyed classical music, photography, hiking, camping, hunting, fishing, golfing and canoeing. He was a Boy Scout leader, member of the Order of the Arrow and completed the One Mile Swim. He was treasurer of the Chamber of Commerce in Grenada. He was a member of the Methodist Men, taught Sunday school for adults and teens at several United Methodist Churches. Currently he was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Corinth, MS.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Cecelia Ann Hemphill Blackwell, parents
Brother Robert Lee Nutter, sister Gwen Nutter Fashure, brother-in-laws Bill Petruza and Buzz Morton.
Survived by his wife of 54 years Julia Nutter, son David Nutter, daughter Susan Hemphill (Chris) Sellers, grandchildren Angela (John) Gandy, John T. Gober, Wynn Gunnell Gober (Fiancé Michael McCandless), Stephanie Sellers, Alex Sellers, great grandchildren Paula Ingram and Abby Gandy, sisters Bonnie Petrusza, Geneva Morton, special niece Sheila (Jim) Mendicino, several other nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:30 to service time
