

Funeral services for Rick L. Griffin, 54, are set for 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Gerald Hadley officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Booneville with military honors.
Mr. Griffin died July 18, 2010 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was born on July 27, 1955 in Chicago, IL. to Charles and Effie Pounds Griffin. He served his country by enlisting in the U.S. Army. During his time there he worked hard and was promoted to the rank of Sgt. He received several awards and accomidations while enlisted, the greatest of these was the National Defense Medal, Armed Forced Expeditionary Medal and Rifle Sharp Shooter award. After his discharge, he was employed with B&B Fence, Taylor Heating and Air, and was machinist and diesel mechanic before he became disabled, and was a member of the VFW. He was a Christian and a member of Foote Street Church of Christ.
Preceded in death by his father, Charles Griffin; Grandparents, Lawrence Pounds, Rhoda Belle Mathis and Clarence and Fannie Griffin, Aunt Lillie LeFever, several other family members, to many to name.
Survived by his daughter, Valerie Griffin Webb her fiancé Ricky Quinn; his mother, Effie P. Griffin; one sister Cindy Burress; two brothers, David and Danny Griffin; three grandchildren, Hunter Webb, Kaitlin Webb and Skylar Quinn; two nephews, Hayden Burress and David Griffin Jr.; one niece Haley Burress; two cousins Larry LeFever and Nancy Wasnecki; and a host of other family and friends.
Danny Griffin, David Griffin, Ricky Quinn, Hayden Burress, Larry LeFever, Jerry Clayton, Scott Griffin will serve as pallbearers.
The Doctors and staff at Magnolia Regional Health Center that was his care givers will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Visitation is from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 20th and from 12:00 P.M. till service time on Wednesday.
