Ruth B. Bingham South

Ruth B. South, 86, died Friday, January 28, 2011 at Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis, Tn. Ms. South was a Christian and member of Fraley’s Chapel Church of Christ. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She loved flowers, gardening, quilting, and sewing.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 1:00 pm at McPeters Inc. Funeral Directors Chapel with Minister G.W. Childs officiating. Burial will be in Fraley’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, January 31, 2011 from 5 pm until 8 pm at McPeters Inc. Funeral Directors.

Survivors include one son, Ronnie South (Karen) of Corinth; one daughter, Sherry Leatherwood (Tim) of Corinth; six grandchildren, Caycee Leatherwood, Justin Leatherwood, Brandi Leatherwood, Ronnie South, Jr. (Gigi), Anna South, and Alley Rose South; one great grandchild, Madeline McLain; one brother, Roy Bingham; three sisters, Bernice Eubanks, Beatrice Hammock, and Betty Jo Walker; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Nora Smith Bingham; her husband, Willie Dee South; one son, Willie Max South; two brothers, James Bingham, and Max Bingham; and two sisters, Martha Jane Vanderford and Ida Mae Gray.
