Wade Downs

A Celebration of Life Service for Oscar Wade Downs, 69, is set for 2:00 pm Friday at Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Buddy Downs. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery. Family and Friends Gathering will be Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and Friday 12:00 to service time.

Wade died August 27, 2024 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Albany, MS. He was born February 12, 1955 in Tippah Co. MS to the late Ire Joy Downs and Birdie Mae Reese Downs. He was retired from Hickory Springs Furniture in New Albany, MS. He enjoyed hunting, four-wheeler riding, and sitting on his carport with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harold, Sammy and Bobby Downs; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold and Dorothy Hodum; and brother-in-law, Randy Hodum.

He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Teresa Hodum Downs; three special children that he adored as his own, Audrey, Reese and Sawyer Collums; a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends; and his special neighbors, Terry and Angela Hudson.

Pallbearers are Scotty Glidewell, Matthew Wheeler, Gilbert Willis, Terry Hudson, Greg Ginn, and Dee Suitor, Jr.
