Mr. Wilkins died on May 10, 2013 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Iuka. He was born on April 2, 1929 to the late James and Willie Hudson Wilkins. He retired from the Second District where he worked on the roads.
Along with his parents, Mr. Wilkins was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Pauline Emerson Wilkins; one infant son; two sons, Jimmy and O’Neal Wilkins; three sisters, Clara Grissom, Jennett Wilkins, Joyce Wilkins; and two brothers, Milton Wilkins and J.D. Wilkins.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Sanders and husband Gerald and Debra Marler and husband Jessie; one son, Richard Wilkins and wife Brenda; one sister, Linda Farley and husband Willie; three brothers, Bob Wilkins, Jerome Wilkins, and Eugene Wilkins and wife Mary; seven grandchildren, Timmy, David, Denise, Jessica, Christopher, Michael, and Richard; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
