Carol Lalonde

It is with our deepest regrets that we announce the passing of Carol Lalonde. Carol passed away peacefully in her sleep, with family at her side, in the early morning of Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the age of 72.

Devoted wife of the late Ivan Lalonde, who loved her dearly until his last breath. Loving mother of Serge Geneau Jr, Terese Geneau (Charlie), and Sean Lalonde (Kaylee).

Cherished grandmother of Ryan Whitford, James Rottier, John-Paul St. Louis (Amanda), Joseph Geneau, Chris Geneau (Ashley).

Treasured great grandmother to 16 great grandchildren.

Beloved sister of Joanne (Mike) McKeegan, Allen Bates, and Brian Bates. She was predeceased by Gary Brown and Richard (Ricky) Brown.

Adored daughter of the late Georgina Bates (Lauber).

Fondly remembered by her closest friends, Loretta Ward and Marlene Terriah, who have consistently been there for her in friendship. We thank them for contributing to Carol’s life and making her days beautiful.

She also leaves behind her greatest love of all, her Chihuahua mix, Daisy Mae.

Carol’s memory will always be cherished by her nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Carol will be remembered for her infinite love of her family. Carol was a mother figure to many that passed through her doors who all lovingly called her Mom. Her home was always open to all that needed a place to stay. Carol will also be remembered for her love of animals. She was always known to have a dog at her side. Carol was consistently generous with everyone. Her family will greatly cherish the memories and laughs they have shared with Carol for many years to come.

The family would like to thank the exceptionally good hearted, patient nurses and doctors at the Ottawa General Hospital for their incredibly compassionate above and beyond care of Carol in her final days.

A celebration of Carol’s life will be held at Lahaie & Sullivan Funeral Home located at 20 Seventh Street West in Cornwall, Ontario. We welcome friends and family to say goodbye, share memories and remember Carol with us there on May 30th, 2026, between the hours of 1:00PM to 4:00PM. A Service of Remembrance will be held in the Memorial Chapel of the funeral home at 4:00PM.
