Simply said, Cécile led with love. If you were lucky enough to know her, you are blessed with memories of her smile, her quiet sense of humor, and at times, her feistiness.
Cécile would say her biggest accomplishment and joy was her family. She married John and had three children: Pat (Catherine Bolger), Christine (Gerard Sweeney), and the late Elaine. The loss of her youngest daughter, Elaine, was a burden no parent should carry. Later, she also lost her husband John prematurely. Despite these difficult life losses, she found her way through her faith and the support of her family and friends. Throughout her life, she gave back to the community and church with her volunteer work.
Cécile’s love for her grandchildren, Rebecca (Conor Stuart) and Nate (Kaila Tims), and her great-grandchildren, Maeve, Hugh, and Arlen, will be her legacy. She also had many nieces and nephews who were special to her, holding a particularly special place in her heart for Lynne.
Cécile was the eldest daughter of Ovila Léger and Annette (née Gauthier). She cherished her relationships with her brothers and sisters. She was predeceased by Gaby (the late Juliette), Florian (the late Lysette), and Gilles (the late Marcelle), and is survived by her sisters Monique Aubé (the late Marcel) and Huguette Jetté (Ray). Her brother Gilles and his wife Marcelle shared a close bond with her, and their support throughout her life was a true gift.
Throughout her lifetime, Cécile made friends easily and cherished all of her relationships. Among her many dear friends, she was blessed for the devotion of Dora Grady, Marge Rivers, and Cindy Ostrander.
Cécile is gone, but her love and smile live on in us.
