RIDAL, Cyril Arthur – (Retired Army – R. C. Electrical Mechanical Engineers and former Courtaulds (Canada) Employee) - At Woodland Villa, Long Sault, on Monday December 29, 2014. He was 85. Beloved husband of Suzanne Champagne (nee Charbonneau) and by a previous marriage the late Frances “Fran” (Leclair) Ridal. Loving father of Theresa Mainville (Alain), Jeffrey Ridal (Brenda Morris), Janet Miele (Anthony) and Debra Brault. Loving step-father of Linda Bouchard (Jacques), Carmen Smith (Randy), Joanne MacLeod (Murray) and Sylvie Sauvé (Guy). Sadly missed by 11 grandchildren: Stephanie, Danielle, David, Dylan, Emma, Joseph, Thomas, James, Joshua, Christopher, Lillian and one great grandchild, Eloise. Also sadly missed by eight step-grandchildren: Matthieu, Elliott, Ariane, Mélanie, Nicolas, Catherine, Isabelle, Philip and five step-great-grandchildren: Kayla, Regan, Syrianne, Charlotte and Juliette. Dear cousin of Diane Drew and Charlotte Mitchell of British Columbia. Also survived by brother-in-law Rhéal Rozon and sisters-in-law, Annette Dagenais and Ida Côté. Predeceased by his parents, Arthur John and Lillian Alberta (Crabtree) Ridal. Friends will be received at the M. John Sullivan Funeral Home, 341 Pitt Street (across from city hall) Cornwall on Friday from 2 – 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 – 10 a.m. Funeral Mass Saturday January 3, 2015 at St. Columban’s Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. Rite of Committal to follow at Notre Dame Cemetery. Memorial donations to Saint Vincent de Paul Society or St. Columban’s Catholic Church appreciated.
