

Dear son of Phyllis (née Brown) Point and the late Noah Point. Beloved husband and best friend of Carla (née Cree) Point for over 42 years. Loving father of Allen Point (Bry), Brandon Point (Shylo), Amber Point (Trevor) and the late Calvin Point (Natalie).
Proud grandfather of: Brigitte (Chris), Dominic (Tahniah), Devon (Alanna), Brayden, Issac, Carson, Jacob, Makayla, Aliyah, Dayton, Kayden, Dakota, Philip, Daniel, Theo, Wyatt, Nolan (Noemi) and Jared; and great grandfather of: Axton, Addison, Carter, the late Taylor and happily awaiting the arrival of one more.
Treasured brother of Karla Ransom (James) and Jayne Folts (Joel); and brother-in-law of Marie Cree-Benedict (Wesley), Hilda Jean Cree, Mike Cree (Aline), Jason Cree and Kim Bashaw.
He will be dearly missed by his nieces: Kyrie Tristary (Ebic), Ernestine Folts-Offutt (Andrew) and Patricia Point; his nephews: Derrick Point (Sherry), Jeremiah Point, Zachariah Point (Emily), Dillon Point, Hugh Point Jr, Beynan Ransom (Nancy), Richard (TJ), Aaron (Katie), Adam, and Ernest (Mikayla); his chosen brothers: Dennis Charlebois and Tom Ewing; his chosen grandson Hunter and his former daughter-in-law Sylvie Point.
Predeceased by his father Noah Point; his son Calvin Point; brothers: Michael Point, Edward Point, Hugh Point and Kirk Point; his great granddaughter Taylor; his nephew Noah David Point; his parents-in law Francis and Catherine Cree; and his siblings-in law: Hattie Bashaw, Leslie Cree, Kevin Cree, Daniel Cree and Allen Cree.
Dean was a hard worker and a skilled tradesman; having worked at Iron Workers Local 440 in New York; 9 Mile in Oswego, the Cornwall Harbour, OKA Erectors, ‘Huey’ Hugh J Point Industrial, Shafer Furnace; before opening and operating his own business, Point Fabrication. Throughout all his career he maintained the family farm as well as volunteering for the Hogansburg-Akwesasne fire department for over 20 years.
Dean will be fondly remembered for his love of fishing, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was a well-known and well-liked man who will leave a lasting impression on all those who knew and loved him.
Cremation has taken place, and his urn will be delivered to the family home on Monday, March 17, 2025.
The family will be accepting visitors at the family home, 84 Point Rd, Akwesasne, ON K6H5R7 from Monday at 2:00PM to Wednesday morning.
Final words will be spoken at 11:00AM on Wednesday March 19, 2025 with a memorial meal to follow at the Cornwall Island Recreation Center. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes, West Branch, 20 Seventh Street West (613-932-8482).
