Elaine Evelyn (Paquette) Martin

Beloved wife of the late Edward Martin.

Loving mother of Robert Martin and Laura Galarneau (Morris). Treasured grandmother of Tyler, Samantha, Robert Jr. and Alex. Proud great-grandmother of Leightyn, Aubree and Jackson. Dear sister of Ronald Paquette (Agnes) and Wayne Paquette (Nancy). Sadly missed and fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Predeceased by her parents Daniel and Leara (née Pecore) Paquette and her sisters Barbara Kerekes (Tony) and Brenda Lough (late Harold).

She was a beacon of light throughout her life to all she knew. In her early life she was a store owner, then worked at Marimac before being a HCA retiring from Versa Car. She also enjoyed being an Avon representative.

Elaine volunteered for lunch monitoring at her grandchildren’s school and also volunteered at the Army Navy Club where she assisted with obtaining groceries, cooking, serving and just helping out in any way possible.

She loved going out to play bingo at the hall, arts and crafts and checking the aisles of the Dollarstore and Giant Tiger. She loved having her radio on all day and wrapping the day up with a swing on the front porch or back deck with her family. Her family was her pride and joy. She will be eternally missed.

In keeping with Elaine’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held in the spring. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Home West Branch (613-932-8482).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
