Emilia Cardinal

CARDINAL, Emilia – Mom passed away peacefully Tuesday morning to join her loving husband Clement of 69 years. Emilia Julienne Cardinal (née Fournier) of Cornwall; age 94 years. Dear mother of Claire Martell (Reg) of Lunenburg, Pierre Cardinal (Monique) of Ingleside, Suzanne Hunt (Peter) of Russell and Lucille Kroeze (Bill) of Ingleside. Cherished grandmother of Joanne Martell (Blair Dawes), Holly Burke (Jim Harper), Simon and Benoit Cardinal, Corey, Cameron and Taryn Hunt, Katrina and Zachary Kroeze and great-grandmother of Kaden Burke, Cassie Harper and Jordyn Dawes. Predeceased by her parents Joseph Fournier and Corine Leduc, by her brother Rene Fournier and by her sisters Eva Grenier, Delphica Poirier, Antonia Fournier, Aline Fournier and Marie Cardinal. She had a very rewarding teaching career. She and Clement enjoyed many years of travel around the world. Her life was blessed with many great friends in Williamstown, Thirteenth Street Cornwall and more recently McConnell Manor. The support from the Manor was so kind and caring a blessing to the family. Thanks also to the nurses, doctors and Father Claude Hallé at the Janet Pavilion this past week. Resting at Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes, West Branch , 20 Seventh Street West (613-932-8482) from 1 p.m. Saturday. Funeral Saturday, December 3rd, 2016 for Mass of Christian Burial in Ste-Thérèse-de-Lisieux Church at 2 p.m. Interment at a later date in St. Raphael’s Parish Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy Memorial Donations to the Janet MacDonnell Pavilion or the Cornwall Hospice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
