GIRARD, Ewen – Passed away at the Cornwall Community Hospital-McConnell Site, on Wednesday, January 1, 2014. Ewen Harris Girard of Cornwall; age 86. Beloved husband of the late Jeannine Girard (Amyotte). Loving father of Susan MacPhail (Clair), Thomas Girard (Luana), Cathy Markell (Larry) and Paul Girard. Grandfather of 10 grandchildren and great-grandfather of 11 great-grandchildren. Survived by one brother William “Bill” Girard (Freda) and by sisters Florence MacLean (late Dalton), Freda Degan (John) and Joan Currier (Edward). Son of the late John H. Girard and the late Florida Girard (Lemire). Predeceased by brothers Maurice Girard (Tannis), John “Jack” Girard (Marcelle) and by one sister Anita Girard. Resting at LAHAIE AND SULLIVAN, CORNWALL FUNERAL HOME, EAST BRANCH, 614 First Street, East (613-933-2841) from 2 P.M. Sunday. Funeral, Monday, January 6, 2014 for Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis de Sales Church at 1 P.M., Spring interment, St. Lawrence Valley Cemetery. The family will be in attendance on Sunday from 2 P.M. to 4 P.M. and 7 P.M. to 9 P.M. and on Monday from 11 A.M. until time of service.
