Gilles Lamothe

LAMOTHE, Gilles of Cornwall, Ontario, passed away on September 3, 2026 at the Cornwall Community Hospital at the age of 79 years. Gilles will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection by all who knew him. Beloved husband of Jacqueline Lamothe (née Gravel). Loving father of Daniel Lamothe (Cindy) and Julie Seguin (late Michel). Cherished grandfather of Barbara, Jeana, Daniel and Renée. Treasured great-grandfather of Benjamin, Brianna, Oliver and Ruby. Dear brother of Vic Lamothe (Marlene), Aline Cashion, Robert Lamothe (Paulette), Maurice Lamothe, Andy Lamothe (Natalie), Aurele Lamothe (Shirley) and Diane Lamothe. Survived by his brothers-in-law Gerry Dion and Michael Gravel (Johanne) and by his sister-in-law Cecile Flaro. Predeceased by his parents René and Pauline (née Renaud) Lamothe and by his sister Jean Dion. Gilles will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Beloved and devoted, Gilles leaves a legacy of steady care and faithful presence—qualities that shaped the way he lived and the way he will be held in memory.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes, West Branch, 20 Seventh St. W., (613-932-8482). A Memorial Mass will be held on October 2, 2026, at 11:00 am at St. Peter’s Parish followed by interment at Notre Dame Cemetery.
