He was the beloved husband of the late Pauline (née Lalonde) Cote.
Proud father of Lee-Ann Prevost (Cal) and Deacon Guy Cote (Tammy).
Loving ‘Poppa’ of Jessie Bellemare (Gilles), Linden Cote (Olivia), Taylor Cote (Klaus Cumani) and Spencer Prevost.
He was ‘Great Poppa’ to McKinley, Lucas, Hannah and Alison.
Survived by his siblings Paulette Cote, Claude Cote (Angele), Lucette Thibeault (Roger), Lise Cote, Pierre Cote (Cathy), Jeanne d’Arc Roy (Norm) and Jocelyne Cote.
Predeceased by his parents Odinas & Diane (née Dore) Cote and his brother Daniel Cote (late Anita).
He will be remembered as a friendly and joyful character, who was selfless and generous to his family & neighbours as well as his co-workers at Domtar & Courtaulds, and anyone who would stop to listen to his story, joke, or look at a newspaper clipping.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the compassionate care he received in the past months. Dr. Poilly (Hospice), Siby & Harry the Nurses, and especially Kaila his PSW from Bayshore.
The family will be in attendance at Lahaie and Sullivan West Branch, 20 Seventh Street West, Cornwall (613-932-8482) on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 9:00AM to 10:30AM. The Mass of the Resurrection will follow at Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, 321 Tollgate Road East, Cornwall, ON, at 11:00AM.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to Carefor Hospice Cornwall would be appreciated by the family.
