It is with profound sorrow that we share the sudden passing of our beloved mother, Jacqueline Séguin (née Lavigne) at the age of 81 years, at home on September 25, 2018 in Cornwall, Ontario. Darling sweetheart and wife of 59 years to our late father, René E. Séguin (1935-2014). Our cherished and devoted mother leaves behind to mourn we three adoring children Donald, Carole Sauvé (Michel) and Marc (Ellen) all of Cornwall. Beloved Memère to her two cherished grand-children who gave her never-ending bountiful joy & pride —Chantal Séguin (Ottawa) and Mathieu Séguin (Kingston). Jacqueline loved her daughter-in-law Ellen and son-in-law Mike as though they were her own children and they too will deeply miss her. She is survived by her loving petite soeur Denise Lemire of Châteauguay, Québec. Jacqueline was predeceased by her sisters & their spouses, Aldéa Tessier 1926-2013 (Romuald), Cécile Cousineau 1929-2018 (Rodolphe) and by her brothers & their spouses, Simon Lavigne 1927-1985 (Yvette Pilon) and Lucien Lavigne 1932-2008 (Laurette Leger) and by her dear brother-in-law Guy Lemire. She was also predeceased by her parents Samuel Lavigne (1902-1984) and Alice (née Marchand, 1902-1969). She will be fondly remembered by her surviving 20 nieces and nephews and their families including her Godchild, Diane Lalonde (née Cousineau) and her dear lifelong friend, Mrs. Annette Leroux.
Jackie was born on April 6th, 1937 in Hammond (Cheney Station), Ontario and was the fifth of six children. She grew up with her parents & siblings in various eastern Ontario locations including Limoges, Lancaster, and Cornwall.
We celebrated our mother's life on October 1st, 2018 with a private wake and Christian Memorial Service officiated by Deacon Pierre Aubé at Lahaie and Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Home, 7th St. W. We are forever grateful to all those who showed Mom and our family kindnesses especially in these last three months; it never went unappreciated. A private burial will take place in October at Notre Dame Cemetery in Cornwall, Ontario.
Rest in peace dearest Mom. We find solace in knowing you are at last eternally happy again & reunited with Dad, the love of your life, dancing in the heavens above. You will both be forever missed and your legacies will live on with each and every one of us.
Donations may be made in memory of Jacqueline to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Arthritis Society, the Alzheimer Society or a charity of your choice. Messages of condolences may be left at www.lahaiesullivan.ca
