Un homme brillant, enseignant et directeur d'école, avide golfeur au rire contagieux et amoureux de la musique est décédé, monsieur Jean Matte, à Cornwall, le 12 octobre 2020 à l'âge de 81 ans et 2 mois.
Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse bien-aimée, Jeannette Matte, avec qui il a célébré 59 années de mariage, ses enfants: Julie (Mark), Normand (Monique) et Denis (Chantal), ses petits-enfants : Nicolas, Philippe, Vincent, Alexandre, Chloé et Jocelyn. Prédécédé par ses parents, Juliette (née Landry) et Aurèle Matte ainsi que son frère Hubert (feu Reina) et sa soeur Monique Mainville (feu Rodolphe), il laisse également ses soeurs Hélène Montpetit, Madeleine Major (feu Guy) et Louise Matte-Forget (Raymond) ainsi que ses frères, Jacques (Pauline), Pierre (Marilyn) et François (feu Louise).
La famille tient à remercier sincèrement Francine Bélanger et Nicole Bourgon-Pilon préposées aux services de soutien, qui ont pris soin de Jean avec humanité et compassion.
La direction des funérailles a été confiée à la maison funéraire Lahaie et Sullivan, succursale de l’ouest, 20 rue septième ouest (613-932-8482). Visites entre les heures de 14h à 17h le dimanche 18 octobre 2020. Les funérailles auront lieu le lundi 19 octobre 2020 en l’église Saint Félix de Valois à 11 heures. Enterrement à suivre au cimetière Notre Dame.

Beloved husband of Jeannette (née Marleau), dear father of Julie (Mark), Normand (Monique) and Denis (Chantal) and cherished grandfather of Nicolas, Philippe, Vincent, Alexandre, Chloé and Jocelyn. Dear brother of Hélène Montpetit, Madeleine Major (late Guy), Louise Matte-Forget (Raymond), Pierre (Marilyn), Jacques (Pauline) and François (late Louise). Dear son of the late Juliette (née Landry) and the late Aurèle Matte. Predeceased by one brother, Hubert (late Reina) and one sister, Monique Mainville (late Rodolphe).
Resting at LAHAIE & SULLIVAN, CORNWALL FUNERAL HOME, WEST BRANCH, 20 Seventh Street West, (613-932-8482) from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 18, 2020. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 19, 2020 in Saint Félix de Valois Church at 11 a.m. Burial to follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.
