It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Franklin Lafave, who died peacefully on August 27, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on January 11, 1942, John was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose quiet strength and enduring love left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
John is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Betty Lafave (née Alguire). He was a loving father to John Lafave (late Elizabeth), Bethany Tyrell (Christopher), Matthew Lafave (Carole), Mark Lafave (Tracy), and Joshua Lafave. Cherished grandfather to Janelle, Samuel, Ethan, Emma, Abigail, and Isabelle, John took immense pride in his family and found joy in their accomplishments and growth.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Nora Lafave (née Denneny), as well as his brothers Curtis Lafave, Roger Lafave, and Garry Lafave. He is also survived by his sister Barbara Schatten (Les).
In accordance with John’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements are entrusted to Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes – West Branch (613-932-8482).
