SCHAEFFER, JOHN – peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at the Cornwall Community Hospital at the age of 82. Beloved husband of Gertrude (née Baumert) Schaeffer. Loving father of Nancy Schaeffer (Albert Touchette) of Cornwall and Caroline Proulx (Michel) of Ottawa. Proud Opa of Eric Brisson (Cassandra) and Sara Brisson and Jonathan Lalonde, Jeremy Lalonde and Cassidy Lalonde and Uhr Opa of Anastasia. Dear son of the late Johann Schaffer and the late Elisabeth (Stein) Schaffer. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to LAHAIE AND SULLIVAN CORNWALL FUNERAL HOMES, West Branch 20 Seventh Street West , (613-932-8482). A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 in St. Matthews Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. Interment, Notre Dame Cemetery will be held at a later date.
