BÉLANGER, J.C. René C.D., SSM (Alert) –After a short battle with cancer, passed away on Friday April 29, 2016 at the age of 73. Survived by his 2 beloved children, Guy Bélanger (Anne) and Carole Bélanger (Luc Faubert). Loving grandfather of Mélanie & Mathieu Bélanger and Jessica Bélanger-Mainville & Sabrina Faubert. Survived by his former spouse, Carmen Desjardins. Brother of Laurent Bélanger (Fernande), Jeannine Vallée (Rene), Aline Taillon (Darryl), Hélène Belmore, and Pierre Bélanger (Huguette). René will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents, Jean Camille and Mabel (Sabourin) Bélanger. Friends will be received at the M. John Sullivan Funeral Home, 341 Pitt Street (across from city hall) Cornwall on Saturday from 12-12:45 pm. Funeral Liturgy in the chapel of the funeral home on Saturday May 7, 2016 at 1 pm. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to Hospice Cornwall would be appreciated by the family.
