OBITUARY
Larry Calvin Coleman
4 February, 1956 – 24 October, 2020
Larry Calvin Coleman at the Ottawa Civic hospital surrounded by his loving family on October 24th, 2020 at the age of 64 years after a short but courageous battle with cancer. He leaves behind his loving wife of 42 years Estelle (nee Marcil). Devoted dad to Ryan Coleman and Kristen Beaulac (Patrick). Doting Grampa to Rya, Koen and Wes Beaulac. Cherished brother of Cheryl Besaw (Alan) and Barb Sauve (Steven). Loving Uncle to Tara Cordes, Melissa and Matthew Sauve, Michael, Sarah and Jessica Besaw, Lisa Jones and Sara Kowal. Predeceased by his parents Bill and Vivian Coleman and brother Billy. Larry grew up in Cornwall and attended General Vanier High School. He worked for many years at Domtar. Following the Mill Closure he worked as a steam Engineer in the Ottawa PSWG plant until retirement this April. He will be remembered as a kind and gentle soul with an unshakeable positive outlook on life, even throughout his journey with cancer. A lifelong Toronto Maple Leafs fan and loved all things hockey. Larry always made time to connect with those around him and was always quick to lend a hand or an ear to listen. His sense of humour and generosity were second to none. He prided himself on his lawn and loved to spend time outside working on the flower beds. Larry’s greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially playing with his beloved grandchildren.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions all services are private. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the M. John Sullivan Funeral Home. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

Sincere condolences to Estelle, Cheryl and Barb anf families from Bill and Jayne ( Greer). We are Tara's aunt and Uncle from Bradford and met some of you at Tara and Murray's wedding. It was a wonderful moment to meet some of Tara's birth family and to talk about our shared experiences regarding her life with your family and ours. She spoke so lovingly of your parents and especially of Larry, so we were very sad for her to have to lose him in her life a second time! We wish you solace and peace in your memories of Larry and all that was so special about him.

My deepest condolences to Estelle, Ryan, Kristen and family. It saddened me to learn of Larry's passing, his calling came much too early. I first meet Larry when he was working at the Bath Road A&W in Kingston, this was shortly after you two started dating. My first impression of Larry was what a great guy and he had to be if you chose him. As the years passed and our families grew, I could see what a great husband, best friend to you, and dad to Ryan and Kristen, he was. Larry had the most soft spoken, positive manner, the kind of person, you will always remember.
If you believe in angels Estelle, Larry will be one of the great ones too!
Estelle, I know you also are a very positive person and with your family, you will remain strong through this change in your family life.
Our thoughts are with you,
John and Brian Schwerdtfeger

Our deepest condolences, to Estelle & family, and to Cheryl, Barbie and their families. We cannot find the words to express how sorry we are for your loss -he was one of the kindest people I ever knew, and such a great sense of humour.
One of my favourite memories of Larry is from one of many childhood visits - Uncle Bill & Aunt Biddy brought their family to visit ours. His cousins - Donna, Roger and I - took Larry on a tour of the neighbourhood; along the way we decided to play "nicky-nicky-nine-doors" -we knocked on a house and ran around the corner to hide. Unfortunately, Larry was not fast enough. The irate woman who answered the door demanded to know where he lived - he said "Cornwall". While she continued to demand he tell her the truth, we were all hidden in a field across the road, stifling our giggles.
At that point, a skunk sauntered up behind us in the field....I guess Larry had the last laugh! (we did collect him as we tore down the street).
We are all thinking of you, and hoping that the many wonderful memories of Larry you hold dear will help you with this loss.

Worked at Domtar with Larry on #12 Recovery Boiler.
His nickname was Lancin' Larry.
A terrific fellow to work with.
He was always in good humour, even after LANCING the boiler tubes in extreme heat.
Sympathies to the family.
