It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Marc Pilon at the age of 61 years. Marc lived a life marked by passion, humility and an unwavering dedication to the people and places he loved.
Marc is deeply mourned by his beloved wife Diana Pilon (née Martel) and his daughters Brianne Winchester (Grant), Kerigan Varma (Rob) and Madison Richardson (Tyson). He was a proud grandfather of Ray, Lennon, Lyle, Burke and Jameson. He is missed by his sister Nicole Kelly (Shawn). He is predeceased by his parents Rénald and Mariette (née Trottier) Pilon.
A man of many talents and boundless energy, Marc embraced life with a sense of wonder and adventure. He was an avid explorer and master scuba diver, drawn to the mysteries of the underwater world. His love for water extended beyond diving – he found joy in boating, kayaking and simply being near the water. These passions were not just hobbies but reflections of his deep connection to nature.
Marc was also a gifted artist whose creativity knew no limits. Through countless endeavours, he brought vision and care to everything he touched. He was a dedicated supporter of the Lost Villages Historical Society, giving his time and energy to preserving stories of the communities displaced by the St. Lawrence Seaway project. He believed in the importance of memory – of honouring the people, places and moments that shaped us.
Above all else Marc was a family man – devoted to those he loved, generous with his time and always ready with a helping hand. His warmth, humour and quiet strength will be deeply missed and forever cherished. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire acts of kindness and preservation in his name.
A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held in the coming weeks and details will be shared with loved ones. Arrangements under the care and direction of Lahaie and Sullivan West Branch, 20 Seventh Street West, Cornwall, ON (613-932-8482).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Marc’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Lost Villages Historical Society.
