

Mary Catherine MacCormick (nee Kennedy) passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Woodland Villa, at the age of 87, with her family by her side. Leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to her family. She was a longtime resident of St Andrew’s West and, in recent years, a cherished resident of Woodland Villa, where she was known for her gentle spirit and warm presence.
Above all, Mary loved her family deeply. She took great joy in her role as a grandmother, and her 10 grandchildren were the light of her life. She treasured every moment spent with them, creating memories that will be held close for generations.
Mary will be remembered for her caring heart, her quiet strength, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. She touched the lives of many and leaves behind a family who will forever carry her love with them.
Mary is predeceased by her beloved husband, Bernie MacCormick. She is lovingly remembered by her four children: Johnny (Kelli), Sandra (Kirk), Kevin (Kim), and Erin (Yvan). She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Konnor (Erika), Kale, Kallie, Brianna, Keira, Jacob (Ashlyn), Nick, Caleb, Sophie, and Thomas. She is predeceased by her parents, Alex John Kennedy and Florence (nee MacMillan), and her brothers John Angus (the late Inez), Bruce, Joe (Isabelle) and Donald (the late Sadie). Mary will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers and staff at Woodland Villa for their exceptional care and support during Mary’s final days. Their kindness, dedication, and attentiveness ensured that all her needs were met, and that Mary was treated with dignity, comfort, and respect. Their presence brought great comfort to both Mary and her family during this difficult time.
Family will be in attendance at LAHAIE AND SULLIVAN WEST BRANCH (20 SEVENTH STREET W, CORNWALL) on Monday May 11, 2026, between the hours of 7:00PM to 9:00PM.
As well as on Tuesday May 12, 2026, between the hours of 9:00AM to 10:30AM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST ANDREWS CATHOLIC CHURCH (17298 County Rd 18, St Andrews, ON) on Tuesday May 12, 2026, at 11:00AM.
Burial to follow at St Andrew’s Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations in Mary’s memory may be made to Beyond 21 or the Alzheimer Society.
