HEENAN, Michael Russell – Michael passed away at the Cornwall Community Hospital on Thursday November 19, 2015. He was 69. He leaves his loving wife and best friend of 46, years, Linda Sharon (Fisher) Heenan. Dear father of Kelly Russell Heenan (Linda Cholette) of Cornwall, Robin Carrie Mikkelsen (Geir) of Norway, Lindsay Shannon Heenan (Nick LeBrun) of Cornwall, Casey Ryan Heenan of Cornwall. Cherished grandfather of, Anders and Christian Mikkelsen of Norway, Bailey, Trinity and Kadance Heenan and Lily LeBrun all of Cornwall. Survived by one sister Cathy Heenan and 6 nieces, Jocelyn, Lindsey, Julie (Laurier), Josée (Robert), Ashleigh and Christina. Predeceased by his parents John Daniel and Mary (Mullen) Heenan and one brother Danny Heenan. Friends will be received at the Cornwall & District Navy Veterans Association, 30 Sixth Street East on Wednesday November 25, 2015 from 7 – 9pm and on Thursday for A Celebration of Mike’s Life and Funeral Liturgy at 2pm. Committal St. Lawrence Valley Cemetery, Long Sault, at a later date. Michael was – A Local Musician, drummer and vocals for 16 years (The Lancers); Past President of the Cornwall Musicians Guild Local 800; Past President and Manager of the Cornwall & District Navy Veterans’ Association; former football player with the Cornwall Chargers and Hawkesbury Hawks; Co-organizer of the annual “Jockfest” reuniting athletes from the 1960’s and 1970’s; Creator of the Facebook Page – Cornwallites - Now and Then; 35 year Domtar Employee (Retired).As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to Hospice Cornwall – Carefor or the MS Society would be appreciated by the family.
