POIRIER, Michael Anthony – It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Michael Anthony Poirier. He was a man of extraordinary strength and resilience. He passed away at his residence in the warm embrace of his loving family on June 14, 2026 at the age of 79. He now joins his late beloved wife and soulmate Helen Poirier (née MacGregor). The love they shared remained with him always, a quiet and powerful reflection of the commitment, loyalty and love that defined him. Loving father of Lori Harley (Mark Cicchini), Crystal Brownell (Troy), Robyn Vaillancourt (Troy) and Kelly MacDonell (Kacey). Cherished
grandfather of Zackery (Kaitlyn), Micaela (Kevin), Hunter (Taylor), Sidnye, Ryese, Khiya, Cali, Emery and Cruze. Treasured great-grandfather of Stella, with Baby Dionne and Baby Harley soon to join the family he loved so dearly. Step grandfather to Tessa (Connor) and step great grandfather to Wren and Wyatt. Survived by his sister Judy Fishwick (late Peter) and by his brother John Poirier (Brenda). Predeceased by his parents Rene and Kathleen (née Donohoe) Poirier. He is lovingly remembered by his many special brother and sister-in-law’s whose love, friendship and unwavering support meant the world to him; especially throughout these past few months.
While our hearts are heavy with loss, we are grateful for the years we shared with him and for the example he set through a life marked by courage, kindness, resilience and an unforgettable sense of humour. His memory will be a blessing to all who knew him. To know him was to love him.
A special thank you to the Chemo Unit and the staff at Cornwall Community Hospital, Dr. Maggie Yu, Dr. Toni Yu, Dr. Aleai and to Dr. Arab for the exceptional care provided throughout this journey.
