He meant the world to so many but to his family, he WAS our world. Before all else, despite all his projects, he was a dedicated husband, best friend and soul mate. He was a devoted dad to 5 children who were his infinite source of pride and joy. He would drop anything to support and encourage them in any way possible. He was poppy to his 8 grandchildren, who he adored beyond measure and who he said gave “the best, best hugs”. They will miss his hidden stash of Kinder Surprises and countless other fun treasures from his closet. Poppy was their biggest cheerleader.
He was a great son, son-in-law, brother, brother-in-law and uncle. He created priceless memories for our family which will be cherished forever.
Paul lived by his favorite saying “go big or go home”, and never worried when something unexpected happened since it “made for a good story”. He always said “it’s not the age, it’s the mileage” and he racked up so much of it through family gatherings, his many projects, businesses and community involvement, all fuelled by his pure love for life.
His passion and great professional accomplishment was being a professor at La Cité for over 33 years. He mentored and inspired thousands of students in the policing program and was highly respected by his students and peers. He enjoyed his career so much, he often said it never felt like work. There was never a dull moment with him and it goes without saying that most people that had the fortune of working or studying at the college had their own unique “Paul” story. He was immensely proud and had the utmost respect for police and first responders.
After retirement he worked with the SARVAC - Humanitarian Workforce and continued his passion for helping shape programs/training with search and rescue. He was an entrepreneur and innovator and had many businesses: Aero Concept Systems and Drone Sport, Police Fit Canada, Raw Fit only to name a few. He loved to share his passion and knowledge of drones and robotics with everyone he met.
Paul was a cherished friend to many (you know who you are) with whom he shared so many laughs and shenanigans. They provided him with endless support, laughter and joy.
Paul had a way of leaving an imprint on your heart. His legacy will live on forever in everyone who was blessed to know him.
Creating priceless memories
