Phyllis Anna Evans was born October 11, 1931, in Finch Ontario, and passed away on March 7, 2026, at the age of 94. Phyllis will be remembered as a loving, friendly, diligent, determined woman with an infectious laugh whose presence brought comfort to those around her.

Phyllis was the beloved spouse of the late Reginald Evans, with whom she shared 59 years of marriage. Phyllis was the cherished mother of Susan Newton (Don), Kim Evans (Rick Ayotte), Margo Ingram (Chris) and Kenneth Evans (Lise) all of Cornwall. Phyllis was the proud grandmother of Sarah, Anna (Mark Dunlop), Jonah (Samantha) and Jeffrey Newton (Amelie); Lisa, Brock Fitzsimmons (Rhiannon), Stacey Reser (Ryan) and Shauna and Mathew Ingram. She was a loving great-grandmother to Lilah, Ainsley, Willem, Parker, Riley, Evelyn, Seanna , Alysha, Chelsea and Troy. Phyllis was the dear daughter of the late Willard Rutley (of Avonmore, Ontario) and the late Anna Shaver (of Finch, Ontario.)
Phyllis found joy in golfing, swimming, snowmobiling, knitting, travelling, curling, piano, ceramics, and singing in the Church choir—interests that reflected both creativity and a deep appreciation for community.
Always having a positive disposition, Phyllis leaves a legacy of warmth, resilience, and kindness that will be remembered and carried forward by all who knew and loved her.
A heartfelt thank you to Arianea Walker of St. Joseph's Continuing Care Center, the staff of the E.R. of the Cornwall Community Hospital and the J.M.P. for the special care and compassion shown to Phyllis and family.
