CARRIERE, Rachelle (née L’Ecuyer) December 13, 1943 – November 16, 2020

It is with broken hearts that we share the recent passing of Rachelle, peacefully at Hospice, with her loving husband by her side on Monday, November 16, 2020, at the age of 76 years, after a long and courageous fight. Beloved wife of Laurent. Loving mother of Roch (Julianne), Mario (Gina) Michel (Cindy) and Stephane (Melissa).

Daughter of the late Wilfred and Anna (née Paquette) L’Ecuyer.

Predeceased by her brothers Xavier, Leo (Yvonne), Bruno (Lucienne), Rolland (Vivianne), Andre (Huguette) and Bernard (Jaqueline); and by her sisters Françoise (George Dallaire), Carmen (Jean Paul Richer), Laurette, Marguerite (Arthur D’Aoust) Alexandrine (Leo Paul D’Amour), Madeline (Albert Parisien) and Thérèse.

Predeceased by Roger Carrière (Thérèse), Raymond Carrière (Riella), Marcel Carrière, Aime Carrière (Bertha) and Réjeanne Watson (Arthur).

Survived by Thérèse Campeau (Gaétan), Rita Masse (Gilbert), Lucien (Fernande), Cecile Carrière, Claire Lauzon (Wilfred), Marielle Mayer (Reynald) and Diane Fortier (Rudy).

Cherished Mémère of Amy Anderson, Matthew Carrière, Tanya Rossi, Veronica Rossi, Justin Carrière, Camille Carrière and Mya Carrière; great-grandmother of Liam and Jacob Anderson.

Predeceased by her granddaughter Isabella Carrrière.

She will be sadly missed by her cherished and longtime friend Diane Menard. Rachelle was a strong, inspiring woman, who was loved by so many family and friends. She loved to laugh, she loved her casino trips and visits with her sister-in-laws, and she loved accompanying “chanson à répondre” with her spoons. She will be remembered for always graciously welcoming everyone into their home, and being a wonderful hostess.

Heartfelt thank you to Dr. Leigh Carson, Bayshore Healthcare, and the wonderful staff at Hospice Cornwall. Special thank you to Elianne D’Amour.

Funeral arrangements under the care and direction of LAHAIE & SULLIVAN, CORNWALL FUNERAL HOME, WEST BRANCH, 20 Seventh Street West, (613-932-8482). A Service will be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, Memorial Donations to CAREFOR Hospice Cornwall would be greatly appreciated by the family. Messages of condolences may be left at www.lahaiesullivan.ca

To Larry and the Carriere family,

Our deepest sympathies for the loss of an incredible woman, Rachelle. She was a warm and beautiful light and anyone who had a chance to spend time with her was the better for it. A friendly and welcoming smile and a laugh that just left everyone around her smiling. One of my favorite memories was years ago when Roch and I worked together as kids, I would always show up without a lunch. When Rachelle heard this from Roch, all of a sudden, there were a few extra sandwiches in Roch's lunch and maybe an extra snack for yours truly. She was just like that, always thinking of others. She will be missed!

Rest is peace Rachelle.

Our thoughts are with you at this time.
