Renald "Ron" Arsenault

With profound sadness the family announce the passing of Renald “Ron” Arsenault unexpectedly on June 12, 2026, at the age of 71. Born April 29, 1955, Ron was a resident of Cornwall, Ontario. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Ron will be sadly missed by the love of his life Marilyn (née Sauve) Arsenault. Cherished father to Shannon Lebrun (Martin) and Nathaniel Arsenault (Janick). He was a proud pépère to Maxime, Samantha, Nicolas, Jordyne, Char-Leigh, Ryder, Maxime and Zoé—each of them held close in his devoted heart.

Ron was a dear brother of the late Alain Arsenault (Stella), Norm Arsenault (Yvie), Diane Amirault, Dorothy Tyo, Linda Arsenault-Graham (Alan), Michel Arsenault (Elizabeth) and Edmond Arsenault Jr. (Joanne). He was the dear son of the late Edmond Arsenault and the late Rosalie (née Gagné).

A man of many talents, Ron was known as a cowboy, martial artist, and sometimes a simple redneck—titles he carried with an easy authenticity that made people feel at home around him. Yet above all else, Ron will be remembered for the heart of gold that showed itself most clearly in the gentle way he connected with animals. An “animal whisperer” in every sense, he gave his care freely—rescuing dogs, horses, racoons, pigeons, and more—offering safety, patience, and a steady presence to those who needed it. Animals were his passion and his life. He shared a special bond with all creatures, especially his beloved fur babies, Shenanigan, Tomiscena and Brando. He also had a lifelong passion for horses and took great pride in his Harly-Davidsons and cherished GTO, pursuits that brought him immense joy throughout his life.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes West Branch, 20 Seventh Street West (613-932-8482). In keeping with Ron’s wishes, all services will be held privately. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the O.S.P.C.A. would be appreciated by the family.
