Rita Gareau

GAREAU, Rita (Ménard) – At the St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Center on Thursday July 17, 2014 at the age of 88. She was predeceased by her husband Fernand Gareau. She will be sadly missed by her children André (Shirley Spence), Nicole (Joe Szabo), Johanne (John Newman) and the late Denis Gareau (Francine Gauthier). Sadly missed by grandchildren Stephanie (Michael Fulcher), Kristina, Brigitte (Kyle Merpaw), Patrick, Joshua Newman, Melanie (Justin Gravito), Jeremy Newman (Long Li), Jordan Newman, Jeffrey Newman, Maxime and great grandchildren Morgan and Sydney Fulcher, Johnny Newman. Also survived by two sisters Thérèse Lortie (Gaston) and Madeleine Bourcier (late Jean-Guy). Predeceased by her parents, Altonie and Corine (Legault) Ménard, four sisters, Agnès Ménard, Lucille Ménard, Rollande Pagé (late Jean-Paul) and Lise Giroux (late Jean-Charles) and one brother Raymond Ménard (Béatrice). Friends will be received at the M. John Sullivan Funeral Home, 341 Pitt Street (across from city hall) Cornwall ON Sunday from 2 – 4pm and 7 – 9pm. and on Monday from 9:30-10:30 am. Funeral Mass Monday July 21, 2014 at l’Église-catholique-St-Félix-de-Valois Catholic Church at 11 am followed by cremation. Rite of Committal, Notre Dame Cemetery at a later date. Memorial Donations to Cornwall Hospice or Heart and Stroke Foundation appreciated.
