Robert J. Major

Beloved husband of 64 years to Carmen (nee Fortin). Loving father to Michelle Chausse, Anne-Marie Finkeldey (Brian) and Jean Major (Kristine Hyde). Cherished grandfather to Mathieu Chausse (Andrea Secord), Eric Chausse (Alexandra Irwin), Alexandra Finkeldey (Jacob Bolduc), Lucas Finkeldey, Maddison Major, Nikolas Major and CJ Major. Adored great grandfather to Mia and Nico Chausse. Predeceased by his parents John and Florence (nee Brunet) Major, his sister Claudette Tyo (late Clifford) and his brother Denis Major (Adele). He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

His career as a high school teacher for 34 years was marked by his dedication to his students. He was a man of immense humor and wisdom, cherishing every moment with his loved ones.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to the Glen Stor Dun Lodge for the caring support in Bob’s last 3 years of life. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

In keeping with Bob’s wishes cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes, 20 Seventh Street West, (613-932-8482). Funeral service will be held on August 10th, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St Francis de Sales Parish.
