MacMillan, Ronald Ian—At the Cornwall Community Hospital, surrounded by his children, on Tuesday, May 31, 2016; age 75 years. Much loved father of Shannon MacMillan of Cornwall, Amanda MacMillan (Jason Pugh) of Ottawa, and James MacMillan (Grace Chan) of Vaughan. Grandfather of Nash and Callie MacMillan and step-grandfather of Dylan Dupuis. Former husband of Sandra (MacDonald) MacMillan of Ottawa. Long-time employee of Domtar Fine Papers. Dear brother of Arlene Munro (late Allan) of Apple Hill, Joan Smith (Mel) of Whitby, and Jean MacMillan of Amherst, Nova Scotia. Predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Dorothy (Steele) MacMillan of Cornwall, and one sister, Eleanor Petkus (late Peter) of Barrie. Cremation has taken place. Ron’s kids would like to thank the staff of the St. Joseph’s Restorative Care Program and the Glen Stor Dun Lodge for their help and kindness during his final year. Thanks also to the many nurses and PSWs who visited him at home for several previous years. The family will be in attendance at Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes, West Branch, 20 Seventh Street West (613-932-8482) from 2 p.m. on Tuesday. Funeral Wednesday, June 8, 2016 in the Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home at 11 a.m. The family will be in attendance from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9:30 a.m. until time of Funeral on Wednesday. As expressions of sympathy, Memorial Donations to Glen Stor Dun Lodge or the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 297 would be greatly appreciated by the family.
