October 17, 1935 – July 18, 2018
A compassionate heart stopped beating on Wednesday and heaven is gaining a new angel. Our beloved mother passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Cornwall Community Hospital.
Shirley was a kind, generous person who loved everyone, but her greatest love was her family. She dedicated her life to her seven children and her four grandchildren.
She enjoyed life to the fullest – travelling with her family; visiting the casino; playing bingo; attending concerts; playing cards; and watching her music videos, inspirational movies, Heartland and The Waltons.
Although she will be watching over her family from above, she will be forever missed by her children and grandchildren. She was the loving mother of Donna Villemaire (Jake), Rosemary Fraser, Catherine Fraser, Douglas Fraser (Denyse), Susan Goudie (Louis), Nancy Fontaine (Keith), and Cecil Fraser. She was also cherished grandmother of Ryan, Kevin, Jenna, and Lauren.
She also leaves behind her sister-in-law Darlene Clement (late Bert) along with her step-brothers Henry “Hank” Jr. (Mel), Larry, Steven, Ronald, Donald (Deborah), Michael (Cathy) Brennan and Cecil Benoit (Suzanne) and her step-sisters Anita Barker (Bob), Eileen Howard (John), and Alice Cryderman (Harry King).
Welcoming her to heaven will be her father Henry Brennan and mother Hilda (Montroy) Benoit along with her in-laws, Clarence and Myrtle Fraser and her two best friends (and sisters-in-law) Sheila Lalonde (Donald) and Norma Montsion (late Maurice). Daughter-in-law of the late Myrtle and Clarence Fraser.
Former spouse of Cecil (Sam) Fraser.
Resting at Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes, West Branch, 20 Seventh Street West (613)-932-8482 on Saturday, July 21st from 12:00 pm until time of Funeral Service in the Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home at 2:00 pm.
As expressions of sympathy, Memorial Donations to Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation or charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family. Messages of condolences may be left at www.lahaiesullivan.ca
