Shirley Marlene Laponsee, 79, of Cornwall, Ontario, passed away on April 26, 2026. Born on July 22, 1946, in Cornwall, Ontario, Shirley will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection by all who knew her.
Shirley was the beloved wife of the late George Laponsee. She was a cherished mother to Susan Laponsee (Josh Mernyei) of Cornwall, Carol Sabourin (Miguel) of Lloydminster Sask., and Sherry Laponsee (Gerry Latour) of Bainsville. She was a loving grandmother to Kristi Laponsee and Marisa Laponsee, and a great-grandmother to Ryder, Cole, and Lane.
She is also lovingly remembered as the dear sister of Murray McIntosh of Bourget, Linda Theriault (Paul) of Lloydminster Sask., and Bonnie Clenndining (Gordon) of Cornwall, and was predeceased by her brother, the late Dalton "Butch' McIntosh. Shirley was the dear daughter of the late George McIntosh and the late Dora (née Vollrath) McIntosh.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Home, 20 Seventh Street West (613-932-8482). In keeping with Shirley's wishes, all services are private.
