Our deepest condolences to the family at this time.

Aunt Theresa was always a sweet, kind lady to us. I still have the many letters that she sent to me, and the ones she sent to my mom & dad years ago, always a treat to re-read as she was one to keep everyone update on the family in Cornwall.
She will always have a special place in our heart.

Jackie, Shirley, JoAnn, Sandy and Carole Lazette.

Biography

Theresa was born in Miguasha, Quebec on a farm on the Bay of Chaleur where she helped with the farming, fishing and housework.

Eventually she went to Montreal to work in the munitions factory where she met Garnet from St. Andrews West. She put the tips on the bombs and he repaired the equipment.

They married and soon settled in Cornwall where they raised seven children.

She was an active member of her neighbourhood and her church was very important to her.

She helped anyone in need. She and a neighbour repaired toys, collected by the firemen, to be donated to the children at Christmas.

Theresa was such a good cook, her grandchildren tried to persuade her to open her own restaurant. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and playing Euchre. She was an avid hockey fan, Montreal being her favourite team.

Her photography played an important part in recording all kinds of events taking place in the family. She took an interest in current events and kept scrapbooks of what was happening.

She had a great sense of humour that came through in her infectious smile and the crinkle in her eyes when she laughed. She had a very positive outlook on life and was loved dearly by all, especially her family.
