

Reverend William John Ellam “Fr. Bill” passed away on January 2, 2026, at the age of 94. Born on June 20, 1931, in Toronto, Ontario, William was a faithful, devoted, and kind-hearted individual who touched the lives of many.
William was born in Toronto, Ontario, and pursued his education at Huron College and Western University, where he earned a B.A. and LTH degree. His dedication to his faith led him to become a revered member of the Anglican Church of Canada, where he served in the Diocese of Algoma until his retirement.
He was the beloved husband of the late Irene Vivian Crayfourd. William is survived by his children, Patricia Ellam, Stephen Ellam (Lesley), both of Ingleside, James "Jim" Ellam (Joan) of Osnabruck, Andre "Andy" Ellam (Heather) of Thunder Bay, and Carol Ellam (late Mervin) of Dokis Reserve. He was predeceased by his son, Martin "Marty" Ellam and his wife Cheryl Caldwell-Ellam. William was a dear brother to David Ellam (Maxine) of Greely. He was a proud grandfather to Rachael, Lindsay, William "Bill", Laura, Victoria, Katey, Kristen, Mitchell, Kayla, Krista, the late Mark, and several great-grandchildren.
In his personal life, Fr. Bill had a passion for railroads, boating, and humour. He was also an accomplished organist and had a particular fondness for butter tarts.
Reverend William John Ellam will be remembered for his unwavering faith, devotion to his family, and the kindness he shared with everyone he met.
Resting at Trinity Anglican Church, 105 Second Street West, Cornwall, from 12 noon until the time of Funeral on Saturday, January 10, 2026. A Funeral Service of thanksgiving for the life and Ministry of Rev. William Ellam will be held at Trinity Anglican Church on Saturday January 10, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. Cremation to follow.
