Wolfgang Paschek

Beloved husband of Cherry-Ann Dupres-Paschek and loving father of Jason Paschek, Stefan Paschek (Phoenix), and Phoebe Paschek. Dear son of the late Guenther and the late Gerda Paschek, and treasured brother of Uwe Paschek.

He will be deeply missed by his parents-in-law, Brian Eurysthee and Cheryl Dupres; his brother- and sister-in-law, Juergen and Joy Zaczyk; his nephew, Karl Paschek (Maryse Piette); his brother-in-law, Junior Dupres; and his many extended family members and friends.

Wolfgang will also be profoundly missed by Gilles Titley and Dwayne Bigelow, who worked alongside him for many years, as well as by the present and past employees of Cornwall Truck Maintenance who shared so much of his life's work.

Wolfgang was truly one of a kind. There were no pretenses with him and very little left unsaid. He was blunt, direct and unapologetically himself — with Wolfgang, what you saw was what you got. Those who knew him knew exactly where they stood. He had a presence that was impossible to mistake and, in his own unmistakable way, made a lasting difference in the lives of many people.

Much of Wolfgang's life was spent doing what he loved: working with his hands, solving problems, building a business, fixing things and sharing the knowledge he had accumulated over a lifetime. Cornwall Truck Maintenance was far more than a place of work. Through it, Wolfgang formed relationships with employees, customers, colleagues and friends that spanned decades. His knowledge, experience and presence became part of the fabric of the local trucking community.

Wolfgang also believed in giving his time to others. For a time, he volunteered as a driver with the Canadian Red Cross — another chapter of a life in which he made a difference to more people than his family may ever fully know.

Away from the shop, Wolfgang loved flowers and motorcycles. He loved fixing motorcycles almost as much as he loved riding them. He had an instinctive curiosity about how things worked and the ability to bring things back to life. Whether it was a truck, a motorcycle or another mechanical problem put in front of him, Wolfgang was at home when there was something to figure out or something that needed fixing.

But there was much more to Wolfgang than the man people knew from the shop. He was a husband, a father and a deeply loved member of his family. He and Cherry-Ann built a life and a family together, most recently welcoming their daughter, Phoebe. At home, that family also included Max and Milly, his four-legged companions, who will feel his absence in their own way. His family knew sides of Wolfgang that others may not have seen, and they will carry those pieces of him with them always.

In the days since his passing, it has become increasingly clear just how far Wolfgang's influence reached. So many people have wanted to share a story about him — something he did for them, something he taught them, an encounter they never forgot, or simply a memory that still makes them smile.

His family would very much like those stories to be preserved.

These memories will be treasured by his family and preserved for his young daughter, Phoebe, so that as she grows, she can continue to learn about her father through the people whose lives he touched.

Wolfgang's life cannot be summed up by a few paragraphs. He leaves behind a lifetime of work, relationships, stories and memories, and an unmistakable mark on the people who knew him.

He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

In keeping with Wolfgang's wishes, cremation has taken place.

Family will be in attendance on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes, West Branch, 20 Seventh Street West, Cornwall, Ontario, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. for visitation.

A Service of Remembrance will follow in the Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home at 12:30 p.m.

In recognition of Wolfgang's time volunteering as a driver with the Canadian Red Cross, those wishing to make an expression of sympathy may consider a memorial donation to the Canadian Red Cross.
