OBITUARY

Dan John Cart

30 August, 1961 – 9 October, 2023
IN THE CARE OF

Pacific View Mortuary & Memorial Park

Dan Cart, beloved husband, father, and grandfather has passed away at the age of 62, after bravely facing cancer for over 13 years.

Dan fought an aggressive form of bladder cancer with everything he had. Sadly on Monday, October 9th, Dan passed with his family and loved ones by his side at home in Long Beach, CA. Dan was born in August, 1961 in Southern California. He grew up in Lakewood, California where he met his future wife, Kerry. They married in 1987 and had four children.

He worked for himself for most of his career, nearly 27 years.

Dan attended and graduated from Cerritos College and that’s where his love for fabrication, body and paint came from. In the 1990’s Dan worked for Metal Crafters in Fountain Valley, over 8 years, where he built many prototypes for Daimler- Chrysler. Some of his more familiar projects were the Dodge Charger (relaunch), The Viper, and the very first four door jeep, the Wrangler Rubicon; as well as the first set of Red Bull Promo Cars. While there, he was awarded a patent for some of his designs for Daimler- Chrysler.

Dan was also featured in many magazines for his metal fabrication designs. From Car Magazines to his most recent spread in Modern Luxury for a custom railing design in Corona Del Mar, Newport Beach, CA.

He was a man of many talents and should be remembered as such. Dan’s love for classic cars and trucks won him many awards.

Not only was Dan recognized for his metal fabrication, he was also recognized for his talent of car painting. He won well over a hundred trophies for best paint and body work, not only for his personal cars, but also for the cars he painted for others. Dan painted a 1969 Chevy Camaro Z28 that Chevrolet featured in their Anniversary Edition.

Along with his family, cars were amongst Dan’s greatest passions.

Dan is survived by his wife, Kerry; their 2 sons Dakota (Courtney), Kiefer; their 2 daughters Ashley Davis (Dustin), Haley Cart. Their 2 grandchildren Emma, Hudson; and 2 bonus grandchildren Peyton, and Hazel.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, John and Joyce Cart, and his sibling, Judy.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.pacificviewcalifornia.com for the Cart family.
